Hi! I'm Emily!
I've worked in Early Years since I was 18, starting as an apprentice and progressing through every role to Nursery Manager. Having worked at every level, I understand the pressures staffing shortages place on a team, especially in smaller settings where every member of staff counts.

That's what inspired me to start SOEC (South Oxfordshire Early Years Cover).
​
SOEC began by providing flexible, reliable cover to local nurseries and preschools, giving settings experienced support when they needed an extra pair of hands.
​
As I've worked with settings across South Oxfordshire, one thing that comes up again and again is recruitment. Finding good practitioners is hard, and traditional job adverts don't always make it easy to see who's actually out there and open to something new.

So I've built SOEC into something more. Alongside the cover work I still provide, SOEC now gives Early Years practitioners a place to create an anonymous profile, while nurseries can search for people who match what they're looking for and connect with them directly.

The idea is simple. Make it easier for good practitioners and good settings to find each other, without making recruitment more complicated than it needs to be.
SOEC is still local, personal and built around a genuine understanding of Early Years. I've been on both sides of the staffing problem.
